Protective supports Amigos For Kids during the 2026 Miami Open

Kids participating in Protective-sponsored Amigos for KidsAt Protective, we're committed to protecting the futures of the families and communities we serve. We were excited to live out this mission by collaborating with the Miami Open presented by Itaú to support Amigos For Kids as part of our sponsorship.

About Amigos For Kids

Amigos For Kids is a Miami-based nonprofit organization founded in 1991 with a mission to prevent child abuse and neglect by valuing children, strengthening families and educating communities. To move its mission forward, Amigos For Kids provides awareness and advocacy programs as well as after school care, tutoring, school supplies and parenting programs. Amigos For Kids raises awareness of their mission through public service campaigns and high-profile fundraising events, such as Amigos Night and The Blue Backpack Project.

Celebration with Amigos For Kids' AfterSchool Program

On March 13, Protective joined Amigos for Kids' AfterSchool Program at Jose Marti Park and Citrus Grove Elementary School in Miami to celebrate students participating in the Kindness Tracker activity. This initiative encourages children to perform acts of kindness. Thirty students (15 from each location) were recognized and selected to attend the Miami Open.

The celebration featured a pizza and cupcake party, bingo, and the presentation of Kindness Tracker certificates to the selected students.

Miami Open community event

Approximately 30 students from Amigos For Kids attended a youth community event at Hard Rock Stadium. They participated in a Q&A session with professional tennis player Emiliana Arango, who shared her career journey and offered advice to aspiring athletes.

Following the session, students had dinner and visited the new Rally Room arcade at the Miami Open. There, they met professional tennis player Rei Sakamoto, who joined them for arcade games and conversation in the tournament's new entertainment area.

This event supported Amigos For Kids in its mission to strengthen families and prevent child abuse through education and community programs.

Making an impact

During the tournament, Protective donated for every player introduced on center court, totaling $10,000. The Miami Open added $2,500, bringing the total to $12,500 for Amigos For Kids. This effort highlights both organizations' commitment to supporting children and families in South Florida.

Since 2024, more than $30,000 has been donated to support Amigos For Kids in partnership with the Miami Open. Protective employees maintain ongoing engagement with Amigos For Kids throughout the year, with South Florida teammates regularly volunteering their time across multiple initiatives.

Committed to making a difference

"We have a very hands-on approach to our sponsorships and always look to involve ourselves in the community to make a difference and protect the future of the communities we serve. Amigos For Kids is an amazing program, and we will look to invest both funds and our staff's time to ensure we make a difference in lives of the community through our sponsorship of the Miami Open," said Wade Harrison, EVP, Chief Retail Officer for Protective.
